Agreement to launch agricultural sector employment programme signed

AMMAN — The Labour Ministry, the Amman Greater Municipality, Merchant Union of Vegetables and Fruits Export and Employment-Technical and Vocational Education Training Fund on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement to manage and implement the national programme for empowerment and employment in the agricultural sector, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The agreement aims to mechanise the work in the central market using machinery and equipment such as carts, forklifts and small transport vehicles by trained Jordanian labour.
It also seeks to provide job opportunities for Jordanians and reduce the percentage of expatriate labour in the central market by 25 per cent annually.
