AMMAN — All decisions and procedures that the government has taken and will take regarding the coronavirus are based on “deep studies and discussions” with stakeholders in which the government constantly evaluates decisions and urges the adoption of strict preventive health measures, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Omar Razzaz said on Monday.

Chairing a meeting for the coronavirus crisis cell at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management to discuss major challenges faced by various sectors, Razzaz stressed that dealing with the current circumstances requires the “highest degrees of keenness and consideration”, as well as a balanced approach to health and economic factors.

Health Minister Saad Jaber delivered a presentation on the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom, stressing that “things are good and under control”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meeting — attended by the army chief, heads of security apparatuses, ministers and other officials — also went over procedures for public employees to resume work after Eid Al Fitr holiday and work progress on the quarantine centre for truck drivers at the Omari border crossing.

Discussions also covered the third phase of the return of Jordanian expatriates and indicators that can be adopted to determine the reopening of closed sectors, which mainly depend on epidemiological developments in the Kingdom.
