8 BAU scholars named in Stanford’s world’s top 2% scientists list

AMMAN — Eight scholars from Balqa Applied University (BAU) were featured on Tuesday on Stanford’s world’s top 2 per cent scientists list, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

President of BAU Abdallah Al Zu’bi congratulated the researchers on their distinguished publications, which assisted the university in obtaining international recognition.

Allocating 9 per cent of the university’s budget, the largest research budget among national universities, has “proven fruitful”, Zu’bi added, urging the academic staff to step up their efforts.

Zu’bi also said that BAU laid down a number of criteria and incentive schemes to reward academic contributions published in indexed journals, adding that the achievements of the academic staff will be celebrated in the future in a ceremony adhering to defence orders.
