7 Jordanians injured in Beirut Port blast

AMMAN — Seven Jordanians were among the injured in the Beirut Port blast on Tuesday, including three who are still receiving treatment at hospitals, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Deifallah Fayez said on Wednesday.
Fayez added that the operations centre unit at the ministry and the Jordanian embassy in Beirut are following up on the condition of the Jordanian community in Lebanon, calling on Jordanians in Lebanon to adhere to public safety measures issued by the Lebanese authorities, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The spokesperson called on Jordanians in Lebanon to call the embassy’s hotline in Beirut on 0096181699837 or the ministry's operations centre unit on 00962795497777 in the event of an emergency.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh on Wednesday extended condolences over the victims of the Beirut port blast.
During a telephone call with Lebanese Minister of Information Manal Abdel Samad, Adaileh expressed the government's condolences, stressing Jordan's solidarity with the Lebanese people, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Abdel Samad praised the Kingdom's stances that support Lebanon “in all circumstances”, voicing appreciation for His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to dispatch a military field hospital to offer medical services.
Also on Wednesday Senate President Faisal Fayez expressed condolences over the loss of life in the blast and wished the injured a speedy recovery, Petra reported, citing a Senate statement.
