69-year-old diagnosed with MERS

AMMAN — A 69-year-old has been diagnosed with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus in Jordan.
The patient is suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes, said Mohammad Abdullat, director of the Health Ministry’s communicable diseases directorate.
The patient is currently undergoing treatment, Abdullat said on Saturday, adding that the patient’s family members were tested for MERS and the results were negative.
Ten cases of MERS have so far been registered in the Kingdom, including five fatal ones.
