5,240 vehicles cleared from Zarqa Free Zone

AMMAN — January witnessed 5,240 vehicles cleared from the Zarqa Free Zone, president of the Jordan Free Zones Investors Association Mohammad Bustanji said on Sunday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Bustanji told Al Mamlaka TV that, among them, there were 1,180 gasoline vehicles, 607 diesel vehicles, 1,415 hybrid cars and 2,036 electric vehicles. 

He said that clearance on electric vehicles in January 2023 increased by 134 per cent compared with the same month in 2022, which saw the 870 vehicles cleared. 

In January, 2,491 vehicles were re-exported from the free zone, Bustanji pointed out, adding that Iraq, Libya and Saudi Arabia are top destinations for the zone’s re-exports.
