5 Yarmouk University employees investigated over diesel tampering

AMMAN — Yarmouk University has transferred five of its employees to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC) after the audit committee revealed a shortage in diesel quantities supplied to the university by the petroleum refinery estimated to have a value of JD300,000, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.

The employees were also suspended from their employment until further notice. Acting university president Ziad Saad said that the university imports fuel through orders received by a committee of five employees from various university departments, adding that information has been received about people tampering with quantities, which led to the formation of an audit committee.

After looking into two years of diesel withdrawal, the employees' misconduct was uncovered and investigated by a committee which recommended the transfer of the case to the IACC.
