37th Arab conference of heads of anti-narcotics agencies kicks off in Amman

AMMAN — The 37th Arab Conference of Heads of Anti-Narcotics Agencies, organised by the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers (CAIM), kicked off in Amman on Wednesday.
Minister of Interior Mazen Faraya stressed the importance to enhancing regional cooperation in addressing the drug-related challenges, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Faraya also commended efforts by Arab anti-narcotics agencies in combating illicit drug production and smuggling.
Mohammed bin Ali Koman, CAIM secretary general, also stressed the importance of regional cooperation in the fight against narcotics and psychotropic substances.
The conference featured the participation of representatives of Arab ministries of interior, International Criminal Police Organisation, International Protection Office, among others. A wide range of topics were discussed, including strengthening the CAIM's anti-narcotic efforts, expertise exchange and plans to combat illicit drugs and psychotropic substances.
