3-day discussions on reducingenergy consumption kick off

AMMAN — The Energy Ministry, in cooperation with the Jordanian-German corporate partnership programme, on Tuesday began deliberations with the transport, construction and industrial sectors to prepare the third national plan for energy efficiency.
The plan represents a roadmap that includes future programmes, projects and procedures to realise targeted indicators in cooperation with stakeholders, according to a ministry statement. The three-day discussions aim to design and develop several programmes, projects and procedures that can be implemented to contribute to reducing energy consumption and bills for these sectors.
In previous remarks, Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh said that the ministry is preparing the third plan in light of lessons learnt from previous plans and in consideration of the best international practices in the field.
