AMMAN — A second German military aid plane laden with medical equipment and other relief supplies landed on Tuesday at Al Azraq’s Muwafaq Al Salti airbase to be sent to the Gaza Strip.
Upon arrival, the plane was received by Brig. Gen. Sahel Hamouri, Assistant General Manager of the Royal Medical Services for Medical Affairs and Districts, and German Ambassador to Jordan Bertram von Moltke who stressed Germany's commitment to providing humanitarian aid and alleviating suffering in Gaza, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The German envoy commended the vital role of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army’s (JAF) field hospitals in assisting Palestinians in Gaza.
Moltke said that his country has tripled humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people since October, including several relief flights to the region, alongside ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip and achieve a sustainable ceasefire.
This support underlines the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and reinforces Jordan's humanitarian efforts to assist the people of Gaza amid these difficult conditions, as well as enhances Jordan's important role in coordinating international aid to the region.
Since the outbreak of the war on Gaza, the Jordanian armed forces have reaffirmed their commitment to support the Gazans.
In coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation, an airbridge using Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) aircraft to El Arish Airport International Airport has been launched. To date, 42 flights and 11 airdrops have been completed, a number of which were conducted in coordination with friendly countries and humanitarian organisations.
This initiative aims to strengthen the health sector's capacity to provide medical services to the patients and wounded in Gaza.
