2,919 people visit Southern Mazar shrines in May

SOUTHERN MAZAR — A total of 2,919 persons of different nationalities visited the tombs of Prophet Mohammad's companions in the Southern Mazar District in Karak in May, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ashraf Btoush, the sites' technical and administrative supervisor, said the shrines are witnessing an increasing number of visitors, highlighting Jordan’s security and stability and the country’s importance in terms of religious tourism.
In April, 6,000 people visited the tombs, according to Petra.
Jaafar Bin Abi Taleb, Zeid Bin Haretha and Abdullah Bin Rawaha, the leaders of the Mutah battle against the Byzantines in 629AD, are buried in Southern Mazar.
