IRBID — Irbid Governor Hassan Assaf on Thursday placed 25 street vendors under administrative detention for four to 15 days for violating market regulations.
Some of the vendors, whose stalls were blocking main streets in the city, were released on bail after presenting written pledges not to disrupt traffic or block pavements.
Assaf said the campaign to remove street stalls, which began two weeks ago, will continue in cooperation with the Irbid Public Security Department, the Gendarmerie Department and Irbid Municipality.
