AMMAN — More than 23,000 housewives are covered by optional insurance from the Social Security Corporation (SSC), which enables 6,000 Jordanian women to receive pension from the corporation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.
The SSC Law boosted social protection of women by providing them with pension to secure their future, Petra reported, adding that the law redefined the insured, making them “normal individuals” instead of “paid workers”, which allowed housewives to subscribe to social insurance, either through the corporation’s website or at any of its branches.
