‘2016 marked by slight rise in overnight tourist numbers’

AMMAN — Tourism Minister Lina Annab on Tuesday said that statistics on the tourism turnout last year showed an increase in overnight visitors to the Kingdom by 3 per cent compared to 2015, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Annab said that overnight tourist group numbers increased by 20 per cent in 2016 compared to 2015. Petra visitors surged by 14 per cent, Wadi Rum 56 per cent, Madaba 14 per cent, the Baptism Site 23.4 per cent and the Jordan Museum 33 per cent, according to Annab.
