AMMAN — The Amman Criminal Court on Monday sentenced two female employees serving in a ministry to five years in prison after convicting them of embezzlement offences.
The court ordered the employees to return the embezzled funds, JD19,638 and JD2,893, respectively, in addition to the fees.
As the second employee returned the embezzled amount before the case moved to the court, her imprisonment was reduced to two-and-a-half-years instead of five, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
