14-truck aid convoy dispatched to Syria — JHCO

AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Tuesday said that it had dispatched a new relief aid convoy to Syria as part of the emergency response campaign. 

The convoy consists of 14 trucks loaded with food, relief and medical materials to be delivered across the Jordanian-Syrian border to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, according to a JHCO statement.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that the organisation is keen to deliver all donations and is still receiving more donations to help the people affected by earthquakes that hit Syria, stressing the importance of continuing to help Syrians.

On March 12, the JHCO sent a relief aid convoy, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), to those affected by the recent earthquakes in Syria as part of an emergency response campaign consisting of 14 trucks delivered across the Jordanian-Syrian border to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the UN organisations.

The organisation said in a previous statement that the first land convoy, loaded with essential and critical supplies, was dispatched on February 10. Following this additional land convoys were dispatched to Syria via the Jordanian-Syrian border (Jaber-Nassib), bringing the total number of aid convoys sent until March 12 to 15, consisting of 124 trucks loaded with relief aid and food.
