12 drug dealers arrested in Amman, Mafraq, Balqaa

AMMAN — The Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Thursday announced that a series of operations over the past few days, dealing with six cases, led to the arrest of 12 drug dealers and traffickers in possession of significant quantities of drugs.

In the first case, an investigative team followed information about three suspected drug traffickers who were preparing to transport a large quantity of drugs to sell in the southern governorates, the PSD spokesperson said. Agents raided two vehicles used for the purpose, arresting the three individuals and seizing 100,000 narcotic pills, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In Amman, three cases were handled, with the first involving the arrest of four drug dealers, who were found in possession of seven palm-sized sheets of hashish and 1,000 narcotic pills. In the second case, a drug dealer was caught with 10 palm-sized sheets of hashish and 1,000 narcotic pills.

While in the third case, drug dealers were raided and arrested, with eight sheets of hashish and a quantity of narcotic pills seized from them. In Mafraq, a drug dealer was raided and arrested, with seven palm-sized sheets of hashish and 1,000 narcotic pills seized.

In the last case, multiple marijuana plants were found inside a house in the western part of Balqa Governorate, and the individual was subsequently arrested. The spokesperson added that all those involved will be referred to State Security Court's (CSS) Public Prosecution.
