AJLOUN — A fire in the Um Al Mayadin area on the Ajloun-Kufranjeh road destroyed 100 perennial trees on Thursday, according to Ajloun Civil Defence Director Col. Hani Smadi.
The fire, an act of arson, extended over 10 dunums and destroyed endangered trees like Greek junipers, pistacia, maple and oak, he said.
Initial information shows that the fire was an act of arson for logging purposes, Smadi added.
