‘Jordan in Figures’ concludes 3rd training camp for youth

AMMAN — The Jordan Economic Forum (JEF), in conjunction with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), concluded the third training camp of its “Jordan in Figures” programme. 

The programme explores the dynamics of economic participation for youth in Jordan, and targets people between the ages of 20 and 30, majoring in business, economics, journalism, human rights, social sciences and other related fields. 

The third training boot camp consisted of a series of data-driven debates that brought together policymakers, media, civil society organisations and youth, to discuss key development priorities and challenges in Jordan, according to the Jordan in Figures website. 

“Participants were trained on critical thinking, means of enhancing dialogue and on the outcomes of the high-level meeting,” Aseel Omari, head of JEF’s project department, told the Jordan Times on Saturday. 

The training also included a session focused on the Labour Ministry’s role in strengthening the participation of youth in the job market and linking labour market needs with educational outcomes, added Omari. 

Furthermore, director of the Policies and Performance  department at the Ministry of Labour May Alyan joined participants in a dialogue on the status of the youth’s economic participation in the Kingdom. 

According to the UNDP, 21 young participants from across the Kingdom took part in the third training camp.
