AMMAN — This year, the government aspires to realise vital goals related to the Kingdom's “economic and political resilience” through joint action with representatives of various sectors, Prime Minister Omar Razzaz said on Monday.
In remarks to the press following a meeting with the chairman and members of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Razzaz reiterated the importance of the commercial sectors, which employ two-thirds of the total workforce in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The premier noted that previous consultations with sector representatives resulted in several government decisions and law amendments upon request. Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tareq Hammouri said that the ministry has held over 30 meetings with the Kingdom's chambers of commerce, which resulted in the resolution of the sector’s requests.
JCC President Senator Nael Kabariti said that the gathering addressed several challenges, mainly the time-consuming process related to the entry of goods into the Kingdom and the rise in costs.
