‘200,000 benefitted from JRCS programme’

AMMAN — A total of 200,000 people have benefitted from the Jordan Red Crescent Society’s (JRCS) community health and first aid programme since its launch five years-ago, the head of the society said on Monday.

During a ceremony to mark the fifth anniversary of the programme, which targets Syrian refugees and host communities, Mohammed Hadid, the president of the JRCS, said that the goals of the project accords with those of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement that aim at creating healthy communities worldwide.

For his part, head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ mission to Amman Muftah Tweileb called on programme volunteers to exert efforts to create positive change in the behaviours of beneficiaries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Hadid honoured 150 volunteers who participated in the programme.
