‘Greek tourism not in crisis’

Jul 15,2015 - Last updated at Jul 15,2015

As the Greek government proceeds with the draconian measures demanded by the international creditors, seeking the sustainability of the debt and a three-year bailout worth up to 86 billion euros, ordinary life in mainland Greece as well as in the islands is following its own path with dignity.

I feel the need to communicate with all Jordanian friends who have not only expressed words of support for my country during all these difficult times, but also proved their confidence for a way out of the economic crisis by visiting Greece.

I wholeheartedly wish to thank all of them!

I also would like to assure all Jordanians who are planning to spend their vacation in Greece in the near future, that my country guarantees the highest quality of tourism services to visitors.

Greece is ranked as one of the best destinations worldwide. Leading international tour operators give their vote of confidence to Greece’s tourism product by supporting Greek tourist destinations.

Rest assured that visitors currently in Greece as well as those planning to visit my country, will not be affected by any developments in the Greek banking system. They will continue to enjoy their holidays without any problems whatsoever.

The Greek authorities do not anticipate any disruptions in visitors’ daily holiday experience, neither in the mainland nor in the islands, as there are adequate fuel supplies, products and services.

The capital controls introduced by the Greek government do not apply to those wishing to withdraw money from an ATM or carry out any other type of transactions using credit or debit cards issued in Jordan or elsewhere abroad.

The Greek authorities respond to any challenge, providing immediate solutions. A special support mechanism has been established to this end (contact e-mail: support@mintour.gr).

Greek tourism is not in crisis!
