Tourism revenues increase by 13.6% during first half of 2014

AMMAN — Tourism revenues went up by 13.6 per cent during the first half of this year to around $2.3 billion from $2 billion generated during the same period of 2013. According to the Central Bank of Jordan, the rise is attributed to higher income derived from religious and medical tourism.

Tourism revenues rose by 10 per cent during the first seven months of this year to around $2.5 billion, up from $2.3 billion generated during the same period in 2013, the Central Bank of Jordan said Monday.
Tourism revenues went up by 11.1 per cent during the first quarter of this year to around $1.02 billion from $924 million generated during the same period of 2013.
