Jordan’s first Hyatt Regency resort launches in Aqaba

AMMAN — The international Hyatt Hotels Corporation on Saturday announced the launch of its first resort on the northern shores of Aqaba’s Ayla area, south of Jordan, according to a statement sent by Hyatt.
The Hyatt Regency Resort is the group’s second brand property and their first resort in Jordan, joining Grand Hyatt Amman.
Fitted with 286 guestrooms and suites overlooking the lagoons within the hotel’s property in the Marina Village, it will be in close proximity to key attractions, such as Petra and Wadi Rum, Mohammad Labban, general manager of Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort said in the statement.
It will feature a variety of venues and enjoys access to Jordan’s first 18-hole golf course, designed by Greg Norman.
“With breathtaking, natural scenery, guests have the opportunity to both relax and recharge, while taking in all the dynamic waterfront activities the development has to offer,” Labban said.
There are 185 “Hyatt Regency urban and resort locations in over 30 countries around the world, the statement added.
As of September 30, the Hyatt group owned more than 750 properties in more than 55 countries across six continents, and was “expanding its footprint in the Middle East”, according to the statement.
